Over the summer kids spend less time reading so it makes sense that they lose a little bit of their skills. Using the Scholastic Summer Reading Program (or Challenge), kids are encouraged to read a few minutes a day. Those minutes add up for the school so that we can qualify for first place in Nebraska. The school that reaches the most minutes in their state will go into the Scholastic World Book of Records and receive a huge celebration kit for the school.
Over a period of weeks, students will record their minutes and unlock prizes. The map will ONLY show the current winners in each state so do not worry if you do not see SEM on the map! KEEP READING, MUSTANGS!
